Lengka House

A couples in their mid to late 50s live here. No longer working, they spend time together and occasionally take cake orders. This house is intended for 2 people to live in and for big family gatherings on certain festive days. You need a space that can accommodate many people at a time. Not only do you need space to gather, but also space to spend time together in a large space. You can also draw a wife who loves cooking and a husband who enjoys his hobby of carpentry. Not only do we need time to work on our respective hobbies, but we also need time to watch television and relax together. You also need a small dining table to serve your dishes. We propose a living space that embodies the unique lifestyle of two ordinary people.

The floor plan is one of considerable size, with a single entrance that immediately flows organically into the rest of the space; the kitchen is at the back of the house, partitioned off by a small dining table for two. The open living room is open to the kitchen. The internal layout is a reflection of the continuity of space, a study in compression and expansion, and an exercise in flexibility. The resulting space is an open space: there is no corridor or door between the 2 main rooms, only a small dining table that simultaneously supports both rooms.
